Al-Nahham

Al-Nahham is the person who accompanies the pearl-hunting sailors with his voice. No musical instrument is used for this art but Al-Nahham uses only his voice to motivate the sailors’ spirits and encourage them to work harder and fish more. Al-Nahham has a melodious voice where he performs sea songs known as Al-Nahma which is related to the lifting and lowering of the ships’ sails.
